advice pls: Working Holiday Maker into HSMP

Post by snowdon » Fri Mar 10, 2006 5:35 pm

Hi guys,

I am Australian and coming to the end of my stay in the UK with Working Holiday Maker visa. I would like to apply for HSMP but have some concerns. Here is my status and please advice:

* Age:
32

* Education:
Master Degree

* Working Experience on Graduate level:
9 years

* Current visa status:
Working holidaymaker, from April 1, 2004 to April 1, 2006 (Will expire in a few weeks)

* Annual income:
GBP 40,000 + up to 10% Perfomance Bonus

* Employment in the UK:
Currently working in a UK company in London as a Software Engineer (permanent position) since May 3, 2005 (10 months ago). The company is willing to continue my employment and provide necessary references.

* Date of landing in the UK as a Working Holidaymaker:
March 19, 2005 (11 months ago).

My question is:

Though my annual salary is over GBP 40k, I will have only worked for 11 months before my current visa expires and will have earned just under GBP 40k. Can I still apply for HSMP? If yes, when should I apply?

My plan is:

Lodge HSMP application by the end of March, along with the "Urgent Treatment Form" and my job contract. Then submit FLR(IED) just before my Working Holiday maker visa expires.

Is this a good plan? Thanks for any advice.

cheers.

Thanks t4tahir for your comments.

Do you think that my income which would be 'just under 40k' would be a problem? Though the annual rate is over and I have worked for the majority of the last 12 months.

Good luck with your application as well.

cheers.

dear tktahir,

you are a lucky man, last time i also got a holiday maker visa but my earning is less than £20K annually since the company reluctant to provide more working hour for me. For holiday maker if I'm not mistaken only can work 16 - 20 hour per week.

actually will the HSMP take into consideration that you had been in UK before under working holiday? since I'm plan to apply should I enclose my working holiday (but expired) to them? Appreciates your reply.

Regards
