As you suggest you have applied for naturalisation, you still need to make your oath of allegiance and I think the Irish do this in the local courts (U.S. style).

Your letter should have instructions. If so, follow said instructions. If not, then contact the authorities.

Bear in mind that as a Naturalisation applicant, if you are of full age, you do not become an Irish citizen until you take this oath.

Hi guys,

I need some help to my approved application form, also I received a (form 7) for declaration of fidelity to the nation and loyalty to the state.

I wonder if anyone has any information about it, and what is the next stage.

Cheers

sandy

Would it be possible to post a scan of this "Form 7" here?

Are you sure you've applied in 2007?

On what base was your application done, was it after five years legal residence, marriage or descent?

Congratulations anyway, it is a great thing to hear people getting their application aproved.

Regards,

Someone said that I could POST my application as this might be quicker- I am finding it impossible to find the address in which I post it however. does anyone know the address or done this procedure?

ANY HELP WILL BE GREAT thanks! x

Why are people finding it so surprising that she got her citizenship if she applied in March 2007? That is 3 yrs 3 mths ago which is way above the current 24-30 mths the DOJ is quoting. From the citizenship tracker lots of people from 2007 have had their applications approved, as have a bunch from 2008 and a smaller number of people from 2009.

Because the original post is nearly two years old now. The OP applied in March 2007 and got his/her approval in July 2008. That's only 16 months. Pretty amazing processing time in fairness.

Aha thanks SideshowSue, I hadn't noticed that it was an old thread that had been resurrected. Still there are a few people who have reported processing times of well below the times given by the DOJ, e.g. :

Grounds of application | App Date | Dec Date | Duration
  1. Spouse of Irish Citizen Jan-10 May-10 4
  2. Minor :Parent Nat. Dec-09 May-10 5
  3. Based on Parents Naturalisation Jul-09 Jan-10 7
  4. Spouse of Irish Citizen Oct-09 May-10 8
  5. 3 Years Refugee Apr-08 Jan-09 9
  6. Minor Jul-09 May-10 11
  7. Spouse of EU Mar-09 May-10 14
  8. Irish Born Child Sep-07 Oct-08 15
  9. Spouse of Irish Citizen Feb-08 May-09 16
  10. 5 Years Residence Oct-08 May-10 17
  11. 5 Years Residence Nov-08 Apr-10 17
  12. 5 years residence Dec-08 May-10 18
  13. 5 Years Residence Jan-09 May-10 18
  14. 5 Years Residence May-07 Dec-08 19
  15. Spouse of Irish Citizen Mar-08 Sep-09 19

I can only wonder who is this Irish national who was able to speed through his/her spouse's approval in only 4 months. Nepotism and special privileges, alive and thriving.

Maybe hold off jumping to conclusions when you know absolutely nothing about the details of the application?
