Fiance visa question

Post by lizziet » Mon Jun 07, 2010 10:49 am

Hi there
I would be really grateful if anyone is able to answer my question:
My boyfriend was refused a student visa extension and has to leave the UK in about 2 weeks. We have now got engaged as we love each other and don't want to split up so we are going to apply for a fiance visa when he gets home. We have been together for 9 months and have lots of evidence (photos, texts, calls etc) but we haven't been living together.
Will it go against us if he was living in UK but we were't living together?
Thanks very much

No it will not go against you as there is no requirement to have been living together when applying for a fiance visa.
I tell it like it is.

The essential requirement for a fiance visa is that you have met and seen each other. Living together is not an essential requirement.

Therefore in my opinion it should make no difference to your application.

Read this link if you want more info on this subject.

Hiya
My fiance and I have been together since August 09, but we split up about 4 months later for a few weeks (because I didn't want any more children and he hasn't got any). But because we loved and missed each other we decided to get back together.
If we tell this in our application do you think it will prejudice our fiance visa application?? Obviously there is a few weeks' gap in our communication evidence (calls, texts etc)...
Thanks - not sure what to do

You don't need to mention it. You're not applying for an Unmarried Partner Visa.
