Urgent help - for Tier 1 dependent maintenance fund

Hi there, I think I am doing ok but want to confirm with you guys so nothing goes wrong. I am in Tier 1 and my wife is in student visa now. She is going back to home country to apply for Tier 1 dependent visa in October of this year i.e. she is going back to home country after 12 months of residency in UK. To show maintenance fund, I have deposited Â£4,000 in a bank in UK recently so that 3 months duration is fulfilled by the time she apply visa from home country.

1. Is this fund enough? I have gone through policy guideline but still having some confusion.
2. The account is joint account in my and my wifeâ€™s name? And this is a SAVING account. Is this ok?

main applicant need Â£2800
Dependant need Â£1600
total Â£4000
You are OK
Your maintenance funds is ok,since you said its a joint account between you and your wife. its very much ok

When the main applicant has been in the UK for less than a year, the maintenance funds requirement for dependants visa is 800 + 1600. I know the query was different ( and 4000 is enough ) but wanted to put the right amount here so other readers don't get confused.

Thanks a lot mhkhan. By the time my wife will apply for visa, my duration of UK stay will also be over 12 months. I think in that case we need even more less fund to show. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks once again.

Yes, after having stayed here for 12months, you need to show 800 for yourself and 533 for your spouse. Hope that helps and good luck.
