Bank Funds Level

Post by sdr » Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:20 pm

For maintenance do they look at balance levels during a day or balance at the end of each day. i.e if your balance went below the required amount during one day, but the closing balance that day was above the required amount, is that still ok?

So if I have a bank letter that just confirms minimum balance was maintained then I should be ok?

The below are the conditions you need to fulfil while obtaining a letter from bank.

iii) Letter from bank confirming funds and that they have been in the bank for a consecutive 90 day period, ending no more than one calendar month before the date of application :
The letter from a bank or building society should show:
• the applicant’s name;
• the account number;
• the date of the letter;
• the financial institution’s name and logo;
• the funds held in the applicant’s account;
• that the funds of £2,800 or £800 have been in the bank for at least a consecutive 90 day period on and immediately before the date of the letter.
The letter must be dated no more than one calendar month before the date of application.
All statements must be on the bank’s letterhead/official stationery.
We will not accept letters which show the balance in the account on a particular day as these documents do not show that the applicant holds enough funds for the full period needed.

Thank you!!!!, Love the bank name :) ABCD Ungappan Thaadi bank :D

what I was looking for is, anyone who has obtained a Tier-1 Visa can simply post the exact same format of the letter they used. it would be really helpful.

Mate use some brain. You have been given guideline by aruni and also a sample letter by other user. Now onus is on you to make a sample letter and post it here. We will let you know if is fine.

Every bank has a general format for these kinds of requests. Ask them to give a sample print and check whether all aspects required under Tier-1 are covered and then you could go ahead with final print.

Have a look at the stickies. That would be first place to visit before I would start posting (of course after a SEARCH)

I got Tier 1 and i didn't submitted any silly letter from the bank because it is clearly written in the guide that the balance must not fall below 2800 pounds for 90 consecutive days.

So there is no question whether its a balance on day end or day start. The Point is that the amount in your bank statement must must not fall below 2800 pounds for consecutive 90 days for any reason and after any transaction.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.
