Dear All,

Just would like to share my experience applying Tier-1 dependant for my wife.

I submitted application on the 16/06/2010 in VFS Jakarta with following document:

- Marriage Certificate + translation
- My Personal Bank Statement original (3 months)
- Family Card + translation
- Copy of my Passport and Tier-1 visa page
- Employer letter original

Got confirmation on the 22/06/2010 that visa is ready for collection. That was very quick!! Thanks for valuable information from the forum.

Can you pls share if you attached the accomodation proof and yr salary slips?
I guess you are already in UK and yr wife has still to come.

Yes, I have been in the UK since Dec 2007.

I didn't provide accommodation proof and salary slip. It's not required according to the guideline document.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your story.

I am in UK and I am processing my wife dependent visa. Just a quick query

1. you mentioned about Family Card + translation . What is it? Is it applicable only in indonesia?
2. Some people in forum menioned that they included marriages pictures and so. Is it necessary?
3. How much bank balance you showed for 3 months? I have £4000 in my saving account in UK. Is this enough? many Thanks.

1. Yes, this is Indonesia specific thing. It is not mandatory but the VFS staff recommended me to include this in the application to strengthen the application.

2. It is not necessary, at least in Indonesia. Could be different in other countries. VFS staff should be able to advise on this.

3. £6000, but £4000 should be more than enough
