The way I am reading it, initial HSMP entry clearance/further leave to remain will be for 2 years and thereafter a 3 year extension will be given.

Personally I feel this 2 year wait will be bit long for people to want to make quick moves on settlement/saving. Here I am waiting to get initial one year over to purchase terrace house & also to move away from permanent roles to be a contractor. After all when we leave our country & home ,we come here to earn more & fast & save rather than paying rents etc..

I think, It depends on where are you sitting

I think, It depends on where are wey sitting. If we have got the Job in your HSMP level, It will be too long. But for those who are still looking for a highly skiils Job it will probably the time is fine.

As we have seen from previous case int this forum, there are quite a few number of people out there cannot manage to get the highly skilled job in their first ten months of their HSMP EC or even until their 1 years HSMP visa is about to be extended.

I have received my initial approval for hsmp in Feb 2006( In Country). Think I will wait until after the 2nd of April before applying for FLR.

Will this mean I will then get 2 years for the initial HSMP?
