Transferring visa from damaged passport

Post by sant2910 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:06 pm

Hi,
My passport got damaged and I got a new duplicate passport from my country's embassy in Dublin. It will be a great help for me if anybody could explain what are the formalities to transfer my Irish visa from my damaged passport to my new passport.
Thanks

in your case you will have to contact your immigration officer (gnib), take your old damaged passport with you. i am not sure if your spouse has to go in with you with all the rest of the documents. but usually there shouldn't be a problem to have an immigration stamp placed on your new passport again. just explain to the immigration officer the situation and you should be ok.
if you need a re entry visa, i would advise you to send your passport to the visa section by post.
