No matter the visa is issued for 2 or 3 yrs, there is no time limit to enter UK. If you enter within 28 days then you will be able apply for ILR after 1 extension else you will have to go for extension twice before applying for ILR.pakhal123 wrote:Hi all:
What is the validity period for T1 initail Leave to Enter? Is it 2 years or 3 years?
I had the impression that it is issued for 2 years; hence there were so many posts here regarding arriving to the UK within 28 days of visa. But one of my freinds just got his T1 (G) with a 3 year validity.
Can somebody please shed some light on it?
Regards
Thanks aruni4470. I also knew the same. However, I am confused because my friend has got his T1 on 27th June 2010, and it is for 3 years! Issued on 27 June 2010, expiry on 26 june 2013. Visa Type is T1(General) Migrant. The tier 1 (G) visa was being given with a validity of 3 yrs before 6th Aptil 2010. Now they have changed it to 2 yrs.
He might have applied before April 6th 2010.pakhal123 wrote:Thanks aruni4470. I also knew the same. However, I am confused because my friend has got his T1 on 27th June 2010, and it is for 3 years! How do we explain this?
