Filling the VAF09 Section 5a Family Section

I'm married but I don't want to apply for a dependent visa for my wife.

So what should I feel in VAF09 Section 5a Family Section: what are the answers.

And even if I'm not applying for the dependent visa for my wife, is it required to submit the marriage certificate as asked in "Annex A - Supporting Documents Checklist" under Personal Details section.


The following questions are there in section 5a.

5.1 Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later? If they are travelling later please provide their date of travel in Part 7.
(If single go to 5.6) Put a cross (x) in the relevant box
Options are - Yes , No, Not Applicable
DO I NEED TO FILL THE BELOW
5.2 Full name of spouse/partner
5.3 Spouse/Partner’s date of birth >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
5.4 Spouse/Partner’s place and country of birth
5.5 Spouse/Partner’s nationality

It's better to supply marriage certificate.

Few more doubts :

1. Does Providing the details of the spouse and not applying for a dependent visa will affect the application adversly.

2. Do I need to mention the same in the covering letter.
