Hi All,
I am in a dilemma either to apply for HSMP now as I will be completing 4 yrs in Work Permit end of this year 31-12-2010 .
The company I work will extend it to Tier 2 -Intra Company Transfer after the expiry of the work permit.
The query is will I be eligible for PR at the end of the next year i.e.
31-12-2011 with 4 yrs of WP + 1 Yr in Tier 2(ICT). or should I go ahead and apply for HSMP now and get covered myself for the PR .
Pls advice,I have high hopes on this site as many of my friends have recommended to post here.
Thanks in advance,
Satish

there is no HSMP category anymore...it is Tier 1. but with likelihood of omposing probationay citizenship by July 2011 or scrapping it altogether we don't know.

You may apply for Tier 1 (General) if you qualify. No harm!
But you'll be affected by Earned Citizenship rules which are scheduled to be implemented from July 2011 (assuming the govt. doesn't change scheduled roleout as announced by the previous govt.). In such case, you'll apply for probabtionary citizenship as and when you qualify, and not ILR.

I would agree with Sush above. I would rather cover my back with Tier-1G instead of ICT.

Hi,
I am falling short of 5 points for the Tier 1 HSMP but can you guys suggest something to work out or if the employer can give me a letter saying that I am earning such n such amt and also the Indian component of my salary.?
My question is Can I show my Indian component of the basic salary as the part of my earnings to get through the 75 points barrier though I am not physically earning in India(its just like getting allowances in UK and getting basic salary in India)
Pls advise
Thanks in advance,
Satish

You can include salary credited in India in your earnings but without applying the uplift ratio.

Hi All,
If there is a gap of 2000 pounds to fulfill the criteria for Tier 1 to cross the 35k barrier are there any means to get sorted on this??
Also, why the uplift ratio cannot be applied for the Indian component??
Thanks in advance,
Satish

1. Not way out other than augmenting income (e.g.- extra work but in line with your visa conditions).
2. Read the guidance or search the forum as this has been answered a zillion times.

Hi ,
I found this below link wherein it says whoever is in work permit or tier2 (ICT) are eligible for settlement in uk .Only the initial (fresh) applications done after april 06-2010 are not eligible for settlement.I would be extending my work-permit in september this year and might get extended for another 3 yrs which will come as Tier 2(ICT) so will I be eligible for settlement in december 2011?
Total duration == 18 th Dec 2006 WP start arrival 13th Jan 2007 and work permit expiry on 31 dec 2010 . Extending it will get Tier 2 ICT for another 3 yrs till 31 dec 2013.
Let me know if there is anything confusing.

Pls advise...
