Can I travel from London to Paris with Hong Kong passport?

Hi,

I currently hold a British National (Overseas) passport and a Hong Kong passport. I am a student in the UK and have a residence permit in my BNO passport. Since my study has almost finished I have to send out my BNO passport along with my Post Study Visa application. Meanwhile, I was wondering if I will be allowed to travel out of the UK and take a visit to Paris with my Hong Kong passport instead. I am not sure if I will encounter trouble when returning to the UK border with my Hong Kong passport as my residence permit is in my BNO passport, which has been sent out to the home office.

u hav to apply for a visa

If you submit a visa application to the French Embassy in London supported by a passport which contains no evidence that you are legally present in the UK, your application may well be refused.

You have to show something showing that u live here legally otherwise u can t apply
