Actual Salary Package Yeild in UK

Post by nks » Sat Jul 10, 2010 1:35 pm

Hi,

Could someone comment on how a package will translate to actual income in UK. I need to understand this to calculate what salary package I should look at say for example to translate in to 55K in payslips (after any deductions).
In 2012, when I'll need to renew my Tier 1, this is the figure which my payslips should sum up to.

Thanks,
nks

I hope I cleared the intent of my query. I am not looking for tax calculations, just simple info on what my payslips payments will add upto if my package is 55K. This will include tax as well.

Thanks,
nks

outbound, yes..this is exactly what I am looking for. As for example, my India salary is 10 lakh but it includes employer's PF contibution, my insurance premium, meal vouchers etc etc so if I add up my payslip earnings, it will be around 9 lakh.
Does it work same way in UK?

To earn 55k net you'd need to earn about £85k gross in UK.

NKS,

If you get £55k, your payslip will show all these details clearly as well as tax deductions and NI cuts.
Also, for Tier 1 extension, its your GROSS salary before any deductions which is counted. They dont calculate based on your final TAKE HOME salary dude - taxes and NI is your money that the govt takes.

So if you want your 12months payslips to shows £55k you just need a salary of £55k which is obviously going to be taxed and you take home will be lower but for Tier 1 extension that doesnt count!!!

Regards
KP
