Past Earnings of non consecutive months

Post by Ankitha » Sun Jul 11, 2010 5:08 pm

Hi Pals,

I am planning to apply for Tier 1 in August .

In my work,I took a month break(which was in this year January) in the last 15 months while switching from one job to another as I needed a break for personal reasons.

As this break is in between 15 month period and not in the beginning or at the end, I cannot show previous earnings for a consecutive period of 12 months.

Did any of you face the same situation while applying for Tier 1 General.

Please suggest me how to proceed now.

Points are awarded for your previous earnings from work for a period of up to 12 months out of the 15 months preceding your application. This applies to both salaried staff and self-employed persons. You may claim for a period of less than 12 months, but these earnings will not be considered on a pro rata basis. Earnings from salaried employment will be assessed before deduction of tax

If I am not wrong, (and I think that I am not) you can submit your earnings even if you had a break month or two.

So for instance you can submit earnings for march, april, may and then not work in june, july, august.. then work again in september, october, november december.

Consecutive here means you have to count those "break" months as in 12 month period.
so you should state earnings from march to december
