The Immigration Bill to the best of my knowledge is not yet passed into law by the Dail Eireann. The current LTR scheme is a administrative scheme and it will be replaced by the provisions on the Immigration bill when it becomes enacted.justcurious wrote:Hi all,
Just have a quick question about immigration bill 2010.
(6) Where a long-term residence permission is granted foreign national who meets the standard eligibility requirements, following provisions shall apply to him or her for so long permission remains in force—
(a) he or she shall be entitled, subject to section 43(2)—
(i) to reside in the State, and
(ii) subject to subsection
(7), to the same rights of in or to or from the State as those to which citizens are entitled,
(b) he or she and his or her dependants lawfully resident the State shall be entitled to seek and enter employment, to engage in economic activity and to have access education and training in the State in the like manner the like extent in all respects as an Irish citizen,
(c) he or she and his or her dependents lawfully resident the State shall be entitled to receive, upon and subject the terms and conditions applicable to Irish citizens, same medical care and services and the same social welfare benefits as those to which Irish citizens are entitled.
Does that mean dependents of LTR can now work freely without work permit and engage in business activities without the permission of minister?
Is this bill passed yet? any info appreciated.
Thanks
and what does integration test mean?agniukas wrote:that can take years the new bill was due to be finalised and passed by the dail at the end of 2008... enough said...
yes, the new bill proposes that the dependants be given stamp 4 as well. but there will be social welfare checks, and garda checks, as well as checking english (or irish) language and integration in ireland. that's all proposed in the bill 2010.
Then what will happened to any immigrant covered by article 5 of the TFEU, Which enable a person that have resided in any European country legally for a period not exceeding 5 years to be treated like Irish Citizen ?justcurious wrote:Hi all,
