Hi everyone,
Its time to share my knowledge and success story of Tier 1 G with all the members of this great forum that helped me alot.
I applied from Copenhagen Denmark on 14-May-2010 and got my Tier 1 G on 1 June-2010. Validity from June 2010 till june 2012.
I didn't submitted any silly documents like cover letters for every section. Rather I followed the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) Rule. I just used 6 separators to arrange my documents in the file and thats it. I also read the Guidance pdf 3 times thoroughly which actually clarify almost all the confusions.
Below are the snap shot list of the Separators that i used with my application. They are generic in format and can be used by anyone with minor changes. Click the thumbnails to see the image in bigger size.

Common Issues in Form Filling
1.Solution for Sec.3.2 misprinting in Self Assessment Form (April 2010)
If you are applying with bachelor degree like me then below mentioned statement in the form will probably confuse you.
3.2 Indicate your method of postgraduate degree verification Put a cross (x) in the relevant box
1. [ ] Qualification on the points based calculator
2. [ ] Qualification not on the points based calculator but a UK
NARIC letter and/or certificate is enclosed
3. [ ] Qualification not on the points based calculator, but a letter
stating the UK academic equivalence from the relevant UK
professional body
Just put a cross (X) on 1st option. Don't leave this section blank.
2. Solution for uplift ratio/exchange rate in Sec 4.6 Earning Table
1. Just write sum of your Net salary (before tax deduction) for 12 months.
for example if you are getting 1 lakh Rupee per month before tax deduction. The sum will be 12 lakh per year (12 months).
2. Write that amount in your original currency in 4th column with the heading "Earnings Claimed (in original currency)"
2. Go to www.oanda.com and convert the total from your currency to Brtish Pounds.
3. Write the converted amount in pounds in the 6th column named "Earning in pound sterling"
4. Write the exchange rate in 5th column "Exchange Rate Applied" as appeared on www.oanda.com for the date on which you are filling your form.
5. you dont need to do the uplift ratio calculation because it is automatically done by the online point base calculator based on the provided country.
Thats about it i think.
Please let know if i am missing anything.. Hope the above quick guide will be helpful.
Cheers.
