For applications made outside the United Kingdom wrote:The date of the application is the date that the fee associated with the application is paid. This means the date shown on your payment receipt, which depends on how you paid for your visa application, for example, at British Diplomatic Post, visa application centre or online.
Thanks, I also read that in the guidance document. But I got different feedback from my local visa center, which i explained above.sushdmehta wrote:For applications made outside the United Kingdom wrote:The date of the application is the date that the fee associated with the application is paid. Hi sushdmehta, can you point me to a link on the UK immigration site or somewhere else that confirms this is how application dates are determined?sushdmehta wrote:Apologies for the typo error in my earlier message, which has (now) been edited accordingly.
When applying from within UK, it is the date on which application is posted (mail) or received (courier).
When applying from outside UK:
1. In countries where there is no online application system, it is the date when the payment is made (usually this step happens only when the application & documents have been accepted as good enough for acceptance by BHC/VAC staff).
2. In countries where applications are to submitted online, it is the date when the application is submitted (online) and payment credited. The documents then need to be submitted on an agreed date.
