Many congratulations Alizarao. Its a matter of days now before your ceremony. My council also charges £100 per adult for private ceremony, but they hold ceremonies twice weekly and I was lucky to get a date 4 days after receipt of my approval letter. Best wishes

Yes, they are not the same. The ref no. is for the application and not your home office ref no. In my case, we were given 1 ref no for both applicants, but on the approval letters, 2 different reference numbers were written which were our home office reference numbers from before.

You will get different reference number for citizenship application. The reference number is normally start with the 1st letter of your surname.

Its not necessary that the reference no. starts with first letter of surname. My wife and I do not share the same surname, but our ref no is the same. Her home office ref no which is different from my home office ref no. begins with the same letter and not first letter of her surname.

In short, it does not matter what is the reference number or what letter it starts with.

why are reference numbers being discussed in this thread..which is for timelines ONLY. They bear no relevance whatsoever. Good Luck Joelondon for the coming week
