Tier 1 Extension After 2 years

Post by tetis100 » Sun Jul 18, 2010 4:32 am

Dears
I plan to apply for Tier1 UK visa in next 3 months outside of UK. I hope I can demonstrate enough points according to new rules after April 2010 as entry clearance since I am 33 years old (10 points), have a master degree (35 points) and my previous earning by using a 3.2 multiplier (For Iran) is 52000 pound sterling in addition IELTS 6.5 and suit maintenance.
But I am not sure about my capability for this VISA extension after 2 years because I think if an applicant immigrates there, for his/her Visa extension after 2 years it would be difficult to earn more than 50000 pound (without any multiplier) as a new comer to catch enough points to be eligible because normally ,the average income for immigrant in UK is 30000 pound annually. Am I right? Is there any solution or rule regard to this matter? I would be appreciated to hearing your experience and advice. Thanks in advance

From tomorrow, you will have to score 80 (attributes) + 10 (Maaintenance) + 10 (English Language) = 100

If your income is £52000, you might not be able to qualify for initial application. Please check..

Yes getting a job that pays 55k will be required for extension. Also after 19th July, you will need good earnings and 52000 pounds wont be enough

For extension you will need 40K pounds only because this will give you 25 points and I think you could clain 5 points for UK experience and this will make it 30. As you have 45 then this will make it 75. I think 80 points apply only if you apply from outside the UK

The extension requirement should be exactly the same as the initial requirement--so is the age point. For example I received 20 points at the age of 27 when applied initially, when I renew it after 3 years, I will receive the same point for being the age of 30. This is my understanding from the home office’s information.

I was confused at beginning thought that I had to earn more for the extension due to the increase of my age. However, I found out it was not the case after check HO website. I suggest you also check it first before making any decisions.
