Tier 1 (General) - Earning include allowances?

Post by KASSEM78 » Mon Jul 19, 2010 5:13 pm

In the new rules for TIER1, I found out that:
" Earnings may include, among other things:
• allowances (such as accommodation, schooling or car allowances) that form part of an applicant’s remuneration package;"
and to show my salary, I can present: a letter from my employer plus my bank statements.

In my contracts, I have allowanceS for training and consumables that I can spend but they DO NOT APPEAR IN MY BANK STATEMENT as i just spend them for my personal development.

My question: could they be accounted for as previous earnings?

As you can see, it is very sensible question and please give me the answer only if you 100% sure about it.
Thanks

If the amount is an allowance and it is showing up in your salary slips and the amount is being credited to your bank and you can show it then you can claim it..but if either of the two evidences(salary slip & bank statements) is not present or the word reimbursement appears for any on the amounts on your salry slip that you are thinking of claiming then it will not be considered....hope this clears out the cloud a bit..good luck!!

Hi Aspirant,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it does clear the cloud :) but confirms that my fear was justified :(
Thanks again!
