EEA2 Application Advice

We filed our EEA2 application on 19th February 2010 and received a confirmation on 3rd March. We were advised in the letter not to contact the home office, however we are nearing the 6 month turnaround time and wanted your opinion on whether there is any point in contact the home office once the 6 months has passed or whether this is simply a waiting game.
