Salaam to all,

MA786 congratulations on getting your husband's visa thats great news you must be really happy after all that waiting. :D :D

yesterday at work decided to send email to see what response i get ...about 3 hours later got following email :

Dear Mr Average Joe,

Thank you for your email. Details regarding processing times can be found on Gerry’s website www.ukvacpk.com under ‘Guide to processing times.’ All settlement applications can take up to 12 weeks from the date of application to process. Please contact us if this time has lapsed and you have not been contacted regarding your application.

Regards

UK Visa Section
Correspondence Team

..Then half hour later recieved an email from an ECO officer stating the following :

Sir

Please do not email me directly with your enquiry. I do not respond to such enquiries personally - they should be sent to the appeals inbox - STE.UKHUB@fco.gsi.gov.uk. I will forward this on to them for their reply.

Thank you

Does this mean anything ?...appeals ? or was this sent to make sure i enjoy my weekend and the next four weeks ..? :?

Hi Guys,

I have been reading posts on this forum for last few days. It seems to be a good platform to get authentic advice not from books but based on real experiences. Well done to all contributors and moderators specially B Khan!

I would really appreciate if someone can answer couple of questions I have.

1) I will be applying for spouse visa for my wife in the mid of August 3 months after our wedding. In the beginning of July, I sent her some money in a bank. I have a receipt containing details about wife, money and bank (including phone numbers) for that however my wife collected cash as she does not have an account. Is it problematic at all that money was sent to be collected over the counter and not in the account?

2) I returned to UK after 2 days of my wedding to get back on job. However I do have loads of wedding function photos, itemized bills showing telephonic contact as well as messages for last 3 months and plenty of emails. Should this be OK or do I need to put something in place to ensure that I don't get caught over this?

We could not arrange our ceremony earlier during my 3 week stay because of some family issues and attendance problems.

Once again, I would appreciate prompt response!

Thanks
Azee

Hi,

i am now getting worried. It has been over 10 weeks since we applied and not even a single call to HR.

We applied on the 13/07/2010 and to this date not a single call.

Did anyone else recieve their visa without a call to employer?

I submitted 8 months original payslips, original employment contract, employment letter confirming employer and bank statments that show monthly wage payments by my company through Bacs.

Is this a good sign or a bad sign given what i submited? I work for the NHS.

Snipered,

Worry not, there are many people (on this board too) who have had visa's issued without a call to their employer, they do not always call the employer.

I'm in the same boat as you (applied 8.5 weeks ago and submitted original employment contract, letter from MD, lots of salary slips and my salary is paid by BACS direct into my account) and my employer has not had a call yet. My cousin applied in October last year, and like you he also works for the NHS and they did not verify his employment either.

So don't think about it too much and enjoy the weekend ahead, hopefully we'll have nice weather :-)

emailed the visa section again to ask when the decision was made, and they reply....

Dear Fara,

Thank you for your email the contents of which have been noted.

I can confirm that a decision on this application was made on 25th May 2010 however, due to the Data Protection Act we are unable to tell you the decision that was made .

Please can I ask you to refrain from contacting us as we are currently processing your husband's visa application. Please be advised that any subsequent emails regarding this matter will be deleted and not read.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Since the application was made on the 28th April 2010, it took them less then a month to make the decision its just getting the passport and documents back.

Yes i agree, this isn't good customer service especially due to the fee's we have had to pay.

I don't know how UKBA is structured or how they work but if a team of people are constantly having to reply to emails before the 12 weeks are up then (i assume) it is stopping them from doing other tasks such as reviewing applications, i can see why a further delay can be caused by people emailing in before the 12 weeks are up.

For example let's say I have given one of my clients a deadline of the end of the day, at lunch he phones me to enquire about progress and talks for 20 mins... well it's going to take that much longer for me to complete the work...

That doesn't excuse the response they have given, and i'm sure they could have communicated the same message in a more friendly manner.

I think instead of rambling on i need to learn to listen to my own advice. On a brighter note Pakistan look like they will their first test against the Aussies in 15 years :-) Go Pakistan...

Hey snipered, my wife works as a doctor for the NHS as well, and we applied for my spousal visa on the 26th of May. They still haven't contacted her employer as yet. We submitted her GMC certificate/payslips/contract letter etc. Maybe it has something to do with working for NHS. Still waiting on the decision yet. Good luck to you.

Inshallah i hope so, it is a shame after paying so much money you would expect a decent reply...or some communication would be appreciated.

I work for the DWP and if the staff working on the cases are anything like some of my work colleagues then they probably don't care, and prob waste time sending documents back making all sorts of excuses.

I am waiting to move into my new home and i have so much to sort out, i have had to freeze all my plans just incase my husband does not get the visa! It easy for them to say be patient, i spend all day worrying!

Salam Farahussain,

I applied a week after you and had a response around 10 days ago stating that my application has been processed and wait for the VAC to contact me back etc etc. However, they are taking soooooo long to get back to you and it becomes very difficult.

My 12 weeks are up next week and I am thinking of asking my local MP to write them an email to ask why it is taking ages. I suspect the hold up is at BHC Islamabad. It makes no sense for them NOT to deliver within the 12 weeks quoted time as they just open themselves up to email chasers, phone calls, complaints, MPs etc etc

Have you considered the MP route? - especially as your 12 weeks are up

BJ Touch - your 12 weeks expired this week if Im correct and you said you will involve your MP. What is the latest?

iALLAH we will hear something as soon as possible...becoming very hard. May Allah give us sabr and the news we want

I will be going to see my MP tomorrow and see if he can sort something out, i can understand what everyone is going through. Thank you i was thinking about it earlier but i am more determined to see the MP tomorrow. See what happens...

My prayers are with you all, Hope allah swt gives everyone sabar and inshallah the news everyone wants to hear will come very soon...

I agree with you wholeheartidly that applying for your spouse needs careful thinking and planning.

A well prepared and presented applicatopn always succeed in the end :D
aoa batleykhan

thanks to you, i read some of your guidance before applying.

I think you are 100% right as every single applicant's circumstances are different and every application must be completed with this in mind.

I am happy that at least I "think" I must have prepared an okish application!

I know that you specialise in this area- I think I know someone that could make use of you!

Thanks

No problem.Having proof of money sent to wife is important, not how it is collected by the reciever

You need to explain this in detail with application. Explain why you only spent two days with your wife after wedding. Keeping in contact since marriage is also very important. The more proof of contact , the better

Once again, I would appreciate prompt response!

Thanks
Azee
Good luck.Prepare application carefully if you want to suceed.
