Hello all
I am currently in UK and I am applying for my partner's dependant visa, can anybody please tell me whether the list of documents I have attached are ok...
1)VAF 10 form
2)3 months bank statement
3)6months salary slip
4)proof of employement
5)National Insurance number
6)Rent agreement
7)water bill
8)council tax letter
9)tax letter
10)Voters letter
11)marriage certificate
12)photographs
Also I am in UK since 2008 how much funds do I have to show?
I moved into a new house in April and all the address proofs are dated April or May is that ok?
Also my salary slips are printouts do I need to get them attested from my employer?
Do I also need a letter from bank stating my funds did not go below a certain amount?
What documents should my partner show?
And lastly can someone help me with a format of sponsor letter please.
Please help me as I am soon going to India with all my documents to apply from there...
Thanks for your help.

Also my salary slips are printouts do I need to get them attested from my employer? -- would be better if you can do that.
Do I also need a letter from bank stating my funds did not go below a certain amount? -- not required if bank statements are clear enough. In my case I had two bank statement so I clarified it on a separate cover letter.
What documents should my partner show? -- nothing except general passports etc
And lastly can someone help me with a format of sponsor letter please. -- I can send you copy of mine send me a personal message or I'll check if I can reply on here itself.
Please help me as I am soon going to India with all my documents to apply from there...
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Is accomodation proof necessay.
Currently I am staying as PG and does not have any proper rent agreement. I am in UK for the last 4 months and now want to apply for my wife and kid. Is it ok if I book a room in hotel for them for 15 days and show that as accomodation proof for them.
Thanks

Hi
I have submitted my partner's visa in India but we took print outs of my bank statements but those were attested by the bank. When we were submitting that the vfs people said the bank statements should be original.
We have however submitted the application on 11/08/2010 but havent heard anything from them as of now.
Can anyone tell me how much time it takes? and whether we have done the right thing by submitting the application anyhow?
please respond
Thanks
Shubhi

As long as the bank statements have the bank's name and logo and every page of the statement is signed and stamped, you should be fine. CHeck here for timelines -

Just wondering,
Why do we need to submit 6 months payslips of main applicant? didnt read it anywhere in any guidance doc.
Even if we are submittign payslips it should match teh bank statements I woudl reckon.
In that case(an mine) I will have to submit 2 sets of bank statement - one is curretn accoutn where I get salary and the other is savings account where I maintain my funds!
Please can some moderator confirm the payslips stuff.
cheers,
Soumya
