Is minor traffic offence a crime for immigration

Post by shaad » Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:03 pm

Just want to know if a minor traffic offence taken as a criminal act in UK.
I am applying for a settlement VISA and have been fined by a court for £60.00 and thats all. I got stuck in the middle of a traffic signal on a red light.
I have seen people who did not mention this have been refused VISA.
Any light on this?
Thanks

Not a big problem if you dont hide in yours application form..If you did and later home office discovered then forget about visa.

Hiding has a very serious consequences.

I dont think motoring convictions count though. On the other hand, non motoring convictions like GBH or assault should be declared. I am not 100% sure on this. Double check with sir batleykhan :)

What I know driving offensives need to be declared and this is written in most of visa application forms that you should must declare convictions including driving offenses.

I am not an expert but this is my humble advice.I have read this somewhere.
