Called HO this morning and was told the decision letter has been post out. I haven't received the letter yet, and don't know whether my council has received the certificates. I have gained lots of information from this forum. thanks to all the members.

I have just spoke to the H/O and they have confirmed that a decision has been made in letter sent about 2 days ago and that i should receive the letter very shortly.

Hi All,

Some good news today! Received a package today which had my documents and old passports and accompanying letter saying "I am pleased to say that the application has been successful"

It also says that I will shortly receive a letter inviting me to attend the ceremony. And need to wait until that before I can book a ceremony. When can I expect it? Local register office wants a Home Office reference number before I can book a ceremony. Is this the HO Ref number on the letter I got today?

There was a letter which came with my Nigerian Passport and it was dropped a few minutes after my passport was dropped through the letter box. I had to check the pile to discover this. The whole process took just under a month and i did not use the NCS.

I will encourage people to save their money and to send their application directly to UKBA in Liverpool.

THERE IS A SEPARATE LETTER WHICH CAME WITH YOUR INVITATION. BRENT COUNCIL ARE READY TO DO FOR ME NEXT WEEK BUT BARNET ARE YET TO SEND ME A DATE OF CEREMONY, WHICH COULD BE IN 2 WEEKS. MY DEADLINE TO GET MY BRITISH PASSPORT IS END OF AUGUST!!!

THIS 6 MONTHS WAIT, WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? ARE THEY TELLING US THAT IN ORDER TO PAY #50.00 FOR NCS PROCESS OR WHAT? I SENT MINE DIRECTLY TO LIVERPOOL AND I HAVE MY OLD PASSPORT BACK NOW PLUS APPROVAL PLUS INVITATION AND WAITING DATE OF CEREMONY.

i RECENTLY WENT TO AFRICA VIA AMSTERDAM AND I WAS AT THE AIRPORT FOR MORE THAN 15 HOURS AND COULD NOT EVEN GET OUT TO GO TO TOWN. ITS BAD ENOUGH TO BE TOLD THAT YOUR INDEFINITE LEAVE COULD NOT GET YOU BEYOND THE GATES. THAT WAS FRUSTRATING THEN I TOLD MYSELF I HAD TO GET MY BRITISH PASSPORT AND I AM ALMOST THERE.

IMAGINE HOW IT COSTS TO GET A VISA TO FRANCE OR BELGIUM?
THEN YOU HAVE THE HOTEL TO BOOK, TRAVEL INSURANCE, TICKET AND OF COURSE YOUR VISA FEE, WHICH IS IN THE REGION OF #100.00. TOO MUCH HEADACHE!!!
