URGENT: ILR after permit free training

Post by doc123 » Fri Mar 24, 2006 9:22 pm

Hallo,
I would like to know if anyone who has been on permit free training for 4 years has applied for ILR and got it. I am aware that permit free training visa does not count towards settlement, but is anyone aware of any exceptional cases?
I was thinking of doing this through a lawyer before April 3rd, would I be wasting my hard earned money or is there a remote possibilty that my application may get accepted?
Any advice from moderators will be appreciated
Thanks

You will most certainly be wasting your money. You should switch to HSMP asap and then apply for ILR after 5 years, or under the 10 year rule, which ever is sooner.

In the past such applications were considered outside the rules and in many cases ILR was granted. However, today when the IND is ruled by the Clark + McNulty duo "outside the rules" consideration is very exceptional.
