Not sure where to post this, but a freind may get sacked from work and currently holds a 5 year work permit... what happens.. is his permit valid and he can come and go fro the rest of the period? or is it cancelled seomhow ...

If employer informs UKBA about end of employment & sponsorship, UKBA curtails leave. See If your job ends.

Typically, your employer would have informed UKBA about your date of termination (this is the date after your consultation period and any pay in lieu ends).

Usually it is 60 days from this date.
