I forgot to mention it in my last message..im looking to get a visa for my wife in pakistan..she will be submitting it at the mirpur office

islamabad seems to be alot quicker in issuing visas than mirpur.

my status changed to come and pick up our documents from where we submitted them.but my husband didnt get a text message.what does this mean?

we applied on the 17/05/10, and our status changed today.it was too late to go and pick it up today, so therefore he will be going monday.inshallah.
inshallah ihis passport will be stamped,i hope we all get the responses we want.inshallah.

I don't think there is any general rule of thumb.

If anything Islamabad had 360+ settlement applications and Mirpur had 200+ applications and therefore common sense would suggest that the Mirpur Vac should be able to return doc's back quicker.

Having said that: Common Sense and Settlement applications are far from being synonymous.

06/07/10 decision made visa issued.
28/07/10 contacted MP was told visa is issued
05/08/10 ready for collection
06/08/10 Collected and Visa is Issued

well i dont think its to do with islamabad or mirpur i applied in isl on 13th May and embassy still havent made a decision yet so i think its all on ur luck

All people complaining about the various length of time for case from Mirpur or Islamabad takes is a fallacy, All cases are forwarded to London in dates application lodged. One set of officers looks at them.

The reason why sometimes one takes longer than other all depends on how long it takes to make checks on each applicants. Some checks take longer than others, Well prepared application, as well documents from reliable sources helps teh ECO make a quicker decision than ill prepared case where a number of inquiries have to be made to substantiate facts.

My advise is prepare application carefully as its presentation at first glance by an ECO can make all the difference whether an application succeeds or not.

Dont be fooled into thinking that one set of officers deal with Mirpur cases whilst another deal with Islamabad or Lahore.

Batleykhan I was told that a decision had been made on my case on 06/07/2010 (same as zmk2) so its not about how long it takes them to enquire, mirpur is generally slower than other vacs from what I can see

I submitted my application on the 28th April 2010, and have been told that a decision was made on the 25th May 2010. My husband has had no contact from them and i even contacted the MP last week and he has not even got back to me. It seems people have received visa from islamabad who have applied after us??? is there anything else i can do...getting abit worried here...??

Ours is realy taking the piss. We applied on 13/05/2010.
Employer was contacted end of July.

12 weeks were up on the 5th. I emailed them and they said some applications take longer to go through.
They said they are still going through it.

I contacted my Mp and they sent a letter last Friday...no reply.

I am seriously getting frustrated with these incompetence.

agree there is no difference between where you submitted...isb being quiker could be because its 20mins from the BHC!

finally call letter issued and they said its going to be a review instead of straight visa stamp however appeal had been allowed last month, and within one month the call letter.

new documents were requested at vac isb:
new tb report, sponsir passport / immigration status, passport, travel date intention letter as well as call letter

salaam everyone, i wanted to find out if i got 3months bank statements and 3 months payslips..is that ok? and my balance will show about £350 free income after my expenditure.i get paid £1200.
can someone plz help me? who has already submitted their paperwork so i can get some advice.

yes sure, help is at hand.

that means each month saved 350 and the starting was just 350 and now the closing balance is 1050, by the time of application it is going to be 1400 and by the time of decision its going to be more than 1700, it should be alright if you can maintain this saved.

everything matters at the time of application, because the visa fee alone stands at 644 pounds for settlement only
