Tier 1 Extension Dilema......

I was asked by a colleague at work if one can apply for the 2 or 3 year Tier 1 extension when one is only one year into one's current tier 1
visa. For instance he obtained his tier 1 , April last year and it expires April 2012 but he wants to apply for extension now, is that possible or
does one have to wait one month before it expires in 2012.

Anxiety over this permanent cap due next year I guess??

Please search board and you will find similar queries, you can apply but its very less likely they will entertain the application. As some people have applied 6 months in advance however I would strongly suggest against applying in well advance.
