Hello

Sticagus - that was a pleasant surprise for you. Congratulations :D

Someone somewhere... this thread or another... mentioned that the long term applicants no longer tend to get their MP involved. Well I got my MP involved and he's agreed to take my case on board and sent a complaint to UKBA on my behalf last week.

I also highlighted to him that I'm not the only one waiting that has waited for so long (7 months in my case) and that the entire ILR process is one of confusion and distress. I've ask him to take this to concern to parliament when it reconvenes... whether or not he does.

If you are thinking of involving your MP but are hesitating because of the summer recess, don't. I wrote to my MP thinking I wouldn't get a response until at least month but he responded and took action within 24 hours.

Hi Kiwigirl25

When is the next parliament session? They should really discuss this matter and find a solution for it.

I was actually thinking of doing it asap while expecting the process to take ages. Shame (seems unlikely for me to say that) that it only took mine that number of weeks to come through. Does anyone know if we are able to raise concerns regarding the whole process in general? I'm sure I have a few things to say about it. My local MP's Liz Kendall, successor of the 'in'famous Patricia Hewitt. She's a new girl on the scene and seems pretty nice on the two occasions I've met her.

Btw who are all your MP's?

Hi

Parliament reconvenes in late August/early September.

How do you get them to discuss the matter? As I mentioned, I informed my MP that it is a wider issue beyond my individual case but I don't think he will raise it. It's dependant on what the current Government have got planned for immigration reforms. MPs may not be willing to raise a new issue until reforms have been finalised and published. Don't know, only making assumptions from what has been in the media. :?

IF UKBA gets in touch regarding the failed payment and asks for it to be rectified rather than returning all paperwork submitted then it should be fine as it can be done straight away.

Otherwise if the application gets sent back and marked as invalid then unfortunately it means that she would have to make a brand new VALID application which obviously will not be in time so she would not be entitled to 3C leave.

Looking at current reports, more cases seem to be handled in the second way.

And if I might add....some kindness by the UKBA officials while processing the applications, by showing a bit more alacrity, may also help (perhaps, less "chai-biskoot" sessions and more work would be an icing on the cake).

@zena

Lady I hope you are not serious in posting this list....at least make an effort to read previous pages of this thread before posting the "still pending" list.

Most people you have mentioned on this list got their ILRs weeks back e.g. boonbin after getting his ILR went on a holiday and when last heard in one of his posts had stated he is not even sure he is coming back to the UK anytime soon.

I retrieved and updated a list that was prepared by Beige. For those of you who did not know - application by Beige was approved and she waited almost 28 weeks. I noticed that most of February applicants are in a similar timeframe now, so they may be hearing good news very soon.
Remember, some time ago we ended up with a very long list and suddenly most of those applications were approved!

I know that Cloudstar is still waiting although applied in December 2009. Coolboy did not post here for a month and Chico14June did not post anything for ages - are you still waiting, are you following this thread?

Fellow ILR seekers/applicants,

The link below, usefully provided earlier on this thread by Geostar2010 is a very, very wonderful opportunity to speak out our minds not just on this forum, but directly to the UKBA through the ongoing online survey being conducted by the UKBA.

Please use the text boxes in the survey pages to get across, of course, politely to the UKBA about what we're experiencing and how the service could be greatly improved to the benefit of all.

Thanks & God Bless,

Devonian.

I've been waiting for 17 weeks. No response; and no follow-up contact made with the UKBA. I can only hope that the UKBA do something serious, meaningful and useful with the data currently being collected through the online survey. This might transform the whole system, enabling applicants to have quicker ILR decisions.
