New Rules for Tier 1?

Post by UKVisit » Thu Aug 12, 2010 9:29 am

Hi,

I heard that the rules have been changed since 31st July. Could anyone advise me on below queries:

1. How many points required to apply for Tier 1 (G)?
2. If the points required changed, then would it be applicable from India as well from same date? or is it still old points to apply from India?
3. while applying from UK in person, is it possible to get dependent visa stamped while dependents are not in UK?
4. If I would get dependents visa stamped for my dependents and they are not here for some time say 3 months, would their dependent visa expire or not?

Pls advise!

1. Read the Tier 1 (General) policy guidance.
2. Apply from anywhere in the world but eligibility criteria is the same.
3. Dependents apply for EC from the country of residence / citizenship.
4. No. They may enter UK anytime while their EC is valid.

If applying from within the UK, refer to UKBA website. If from outside, refer to UKVisas website.

Post by UKVisit » Thu Aug 12, 2010 1:09 pm

Hi,

One of my friend got dependent visa (but not T 1 general) with her husband and did not fly for 3 months and later want to fly but her visa was expired.

Is the case is different for Tier 1 and other?

You're misinformed. Don't believe in hearsay.

need advice

Post by DooDaL » Thu Aug 12, 2010 10:30 pm

Hi all

You can apply under Tier 1 (General) if:

you are already in the UK with permission to stay (known as 'leave to remain') in an immigration category that allows you to switch into Tier 1 (General);

My Question?

If im in UK having visit visa, am i eligible to apply for Tier 1?
providing i am meeting all the requirements.

kindly guide.

DooDaL, since your posts were becoming irrelevant to the stated subject of this discussion I have moved them to a more appropriate forum here.
