Tier 1 extension under new rules

Post by serggry » Fri Aug 13, 2010 9:03 am

I am shocked. I will have to extend my HSMP-Tier1 visa but it will be difficult to do under new rules (i.e. salary points are to 'expensive'). Will they require me to do this under new points system or will I use the current one?

It is not fare to change rules for existing visa holders.

I hope people will provide some insights as it will affect to many of us.

Thanks!

I am not sure what you are saying is true.

If you are on HSMP-Tier 1 I would reckon that you applied for Tier 1 with a HSMP letter under transitional arrangements and I understand that the rules will be the same as when you applied for HSMP/Tier 1 back in 2008.

Or am I still dreaming?! :?

Then it is Tier 1 (General). Simple!

The point being that there is no immigration category called "HSMP Tier 1". Use of such non existing status only creates a confusion as to whether the OP/information seeker falls under HSMP rules (HSMP approval before Dec '06 changes) or Tier 1 (General) rules (including those who applied for HSMP after Dec '06 changes).
