Applying from where? Not allowed from inside the UK.

If your Tier 2 application is rejected then your visit visa will remain valid. No problem! But if your Tier 2 visa is approved then it is likely that your visit visa will become void. It used to be allowed (more than one valid visa) but the instructions have been taken off from the UKVisas website. Perhaps a change in policy?

If you have a visit visa and you apply for tier 2 visa and it gets rejected, IMHO I dont think that your visit visa will also be cancelled.

Oops! I didn't read the query properly (silly me)! Aruni4470 is right and I have changed my response accordingly.

Nevertheless, Avoid using all caps.

I forgot to add - you must have a plausible reason for applying for a 10 year visit. First time visitors generally get a 6 month visit visa.
