Info Required regarding UK transit visa with HSMP

Hi,

I've a valid HSMP Tier 1 visa. I need to travel to USA on B1 visa and may need to transit at UK. Do I need to apply for a UK transit visa for the same.
And if so will it affect my regular HSMP Tier 1 visa.

Sorry it is Tier 1 general visa.

And do you mean to say that I don't need to take a Transit Visa in the above case.

When you say transit, what do you exactly mean? Answers to the following may help:
Will you be exiting UK airport on your onward journey? Will you be spending more than 24 hours in the UK during your transit? Or is it just a connecting flight that you need to board from a UK airport? Will you be switching terminals / airports in the UK for your onward journey?

Do I qualify for transit without visa (TWOV)?

Though Tier 1 (General) allows you entry into the UK (to live and work in the UK), the Immigration Officer at border control may refuse entry on basis of Tier 1 visa if you do not qualify for TWOV.
