Tier 1 extension

Hey,
I have got some questions regarding to Tier 1 extension(please note that i am not interested on HSMP visa extension, just Tier1(General) extension)

1) How long will Tier 1 visa extension exceed my time to stay in UK? Is it again 2 years?

2) How many times can i apply for Tier 1 visa extension, for example if i am not interested in citizenship, then can i keep on applying for Tier 1 visa extension several times, or I have to either apply for citizenship or leave UK and be back to your country after 5 years?

3) I Understand all the requirements for Tier 1 visa extension, just don't understand how points are scored for previous earnings - what is the minimal band if your previous earnings are from UK employer- 16,000 GBP or 25,000 GBP -

1. If your initial stay was for 2 yrs then the extension will be for 3 yrs.
2. There is no limit on the number of extensions - but y wld u want to spend money on unnecessary applications when u can get ILR?
3. Read policy guidance - depends on when you applied for ur Tier 1 visa

1. If initial leave was for 2 years then the extension will be for 3 years. If initial was 3 years then the extension will be for 2 years.
2. Under current rules, settlement is applicant's choice so you may for as many extensions as you wish. AFAIK, no rule (currently) limits the number of extension(s) that one may apply for.
3. Depends on when you last received leave to enter / remain under Tier 1 (General). Explained in the policy guidance.

Actually to be honest i have got my Tier 1 visa in 2010, just now i am wondering when to move to UK cause i have some important things to do yet in my country. So want to know how much i should have earned in 2012, 16,000GBP or 25,000GBP, it will help me to decide when to move to UK and start to work

try the Points Based calculator for this. How much you will have to earn will depend on how much you score in the other sections like age, qualification etc.

I collect enough points from other sections(age,qualification,etc).
I need minimum point(5) for previous earnings and am wondering which is the minimal band 16,000 or 25,000. Does the calculator supports extension for the visas that have been got 2010?

Yes, you can check your points in the PB calculator irrespective of when you got ur initial visa. U willbe asked to fill in the date and ur points will be calculated acc.

I see And the last question for this extension stuff, is it important for extension how many days you were out of UK in that 2 years, or you just need to collect required points and thats all.???
