That does not matter, because you don't even have to submit the Urdu Nikkah Nama. You only need the english translation, that is what I submitted with my application, and got the visa.

Make sure that on the English Nikkah Nama (translation), you have the DOB written.

Hope this helps,

Regards

Iwould slightly disagree with above comments.

You have to submit original nikkah nammah which in Pakistan is usually in Urdu as that is the original document. The English version is only a translation of the Urdu on. If you don't submit original you may be refused as its a essential requirement of a spouse visa.

Salaam guys

Does anyone know whether BHC contact landlords... or tennancy agreement is enough for them along with council tax and utility bills? If they do contact the landlord, then I need to let the landlord know in advance.

Does anyone know about this?

Salaam

Batleykhan, my aunt works at the BHC and she had told me that you do not need the urdu nikkah nama, it is just the english translation that is required.

You get the English translation stamped by your local council (Imam) does that for you, also have to get it stamped by the foreign ministry, etc. That's all.

Also to prove it further you may call gerrys and they would tell you the same thing that the Urdu original one is not a compulsion.

Regards.

Rubbish really.

You dont need to get stamp from foreign ministry at all.Now I would question yours ant knowledge. She is ignorant.
Also to prove it further you may call gerrys and they would tell you the same thing that the Urdu original one is not a compulsion.

My friend dont mislead people here please.

You need both original plus English translation certify fy from Nortary public(or from Union council).

Ali

Batley khan is right.you must provide both ordinal and English translation with application.in our case there was slightly mistake with address on Urdu nikah Nama even though I did correct it when the did translation In English still after 32 days summitting the application.BHC Islamabad sent some one to union council to verfiy the address and few other things about out wedding and they rang nakah khan MOLVi SAAB also to check the address and verfiy the nikah Nama.our application was successful at the end but want to clear BHC does read and look both your English and Urdu nikah Nama.

I am sorry to disagree with you Ehmud ( Ahmed). I accept the English speaking Entry Clearance Officer sitting in London may not be able to understand Urdu and that is why he will look the english translated version, but the original Urdu nikah nammah must be present with the documents as that is a legal and binding document and not your english translated version.................... unless you Ehmud are a Christian in which case the nikkah namamh is slightly different and that is in English only, but for the majority of Muslims applicants the Urdu one has to be provided, otherwise it will be an automatic refusal in a spousal visa application. The nikkah is the legal document that states you are married.

Hope that has cleared the matter
