I'd advise you to be honest with your application and explain everything in covering letter.jagankumar wrote:Thanks for your prompt reply.
Need clarification on marriage certificate proof for dependant.
Ours is Inter religion marriage.
We got married in both(Hindu and Christian) customs on same day 21st Oct 2009.
We have printed invitations which mentioned the above said date as 21st Oct 2009.
But we got married in registrar office under special marriage act on 19th oct 2009 just 2 days before custom wedding.
Now we got conflict on Marriage Certificate and marriage Invitation card.
Shall we show only Marriage certificate with dated 19th Oct 2009? In this case shall we show the wedding fotos which actually snapped on 21st with customs
Or hide the marriage certificate and show only the wedding invitation and fotos which happened on 21st oct 2009.
Please advice us. How to provide proof for it.
If you want to avoid submitting some docs as they contradict each other, make sure you dont discount any legal docs. The marriage certificate is a legal doc that has far more value than an invitation card and some photos.jagankumar wrote:

There are people who think that you need to maintain funds for both the main applicant and dependant, even if you apply only for dependant (like me) and there are people who have got dependant visa only by showing dependant maintenance (search the forum and you will find them). One of them http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... aintenancejagankumar wrote:Thanks for your replies.
My another doubt is regarding the maintenance funds.
For applying dependant visa for my wife.
After recieving Tier1 one, still am in India, planning to travel only in Nov 2010.
For fund maintenance, how much minimum do I need to maintain?
Only (GBP 1600) or (GBP 1600 + GBP 800)
Is that mandatory the fund maintenance should be either in my account or my wife account? What about the case if the account is maintained in my Mother-Inlaw's account?
2800+1600jagankumar wrote:1st Sep 2010, I came UK with new employment,
We have deposited around Rs.2 Lakhs into my wife's account on 1st Sept 2010.
Now we've planned to apply for dependant visa for my wife exactly after 90 days frm 1st sept 2010. i.e by beginning of Dec 2010.
Question1
For the fund maintenance, will (£1600 wife + £800 myself) would be sufficient? or still do we need to maintain (£1600 wife + £2800 myself)
(by the time of application, i would be living in uk for just 3+ months)
Question2
My mother inlaw has FD's for 3Lakhs in her account and maintained for more than a year.
Will it be fine If my wife joint her name into the Mother In Laws' FD by today . and get a statement by next week.
Statement contains My wife's name and my Mother In law's name and it shows funds for past 1 year with 3 Lakhs. Would this be acceptable?
As already advised by aruni, this is your risk to take. I know people have gotten away without showing funds for themselves but it all depends on case worker. If I were you, I wouldn't risk that HUGE application fee.jagankumar wrote:As per policy guidance
It says for eg, which is less than 12 months in UK (3 months or 6 months or 9 months)
42. For example, the Tier 1 Migrant has been in the UK for 6 months and is making an application 42. at the same time as his/her spouse and two children. He/she must show that he/she has £1600 for his spouse and a further £1600 for each child, in addition to £800 required for his/her own support. In total the family will require evidence that they hold £5600 in available funds (£1600 x 3 = £4800 + £800).
Have you been living in the UK since your received your Tier 1 visa? If not, how do you think does para 42 apply to you to enable you to show 800 for yourself?jagankumar wrote:Due to personal reasons still am in India, planning to travel to UK in Nov 2010. .
Sorry, am I missing something here -jagankumar wrote:yes, I came to UK last week and I have started my work here as Programmer, and will be filing dependant visa for my wife in Dec 2010 from Chennai. Now still can I show £800 for myself?
Main migrant outside the UK (yet to enter UK to live & work there) = 2800 for self + 1600 for each dependent.veerug wrote:What should be the Maintains funds for the person who is living more than 12 months and less than 24 months. As this was not clearly explained in policy guidelines.
I come to UK on Feb 2009, and my visa is valid till September 2011.
Now i wanted to bring my wife to UK in the month of Nov 2010. Please explain me what should be the maintains funds for me??
£1600 + £800??? OR £533 + £800????
