Penalty Points? Will it affect Naturalization in Ireland?

I got two penalty points in 2005 for over speeding and I paid the fine of 80 euros and the penalty points were removed from my driving license in 2008. My question is will this affect my application for Naturalization which I applied in September 2006 for which I'm still waiting?

I got my naturalization with two two penalty points

no, you will be fine. just pay up the fine and make sure you never need to go to court

Umm I recall an article posted here where an INIS spokesperson admitted that people were being denied for penalty points.
I'm not trying to scare monger but do be aware.

Points are issued on your license and its not a "criminal" offence but a road traffic misdemeanour. They only stay for 3 years on your license and after that they are removed, so no fuss on it. If you are brought to court over wreckless driving/drink driving/no insurance then you're talking trouble.

I applied in Sept 2006 and got approval in April 2010

if you get points, even if you find it unfair or unwarrented, pay the bloody fine immediately in order to avoid a court appearance. the fact that you attended court but won might not help, as you likely only got off on a techinciality

other than that, no you are fine. but be more careful, you have too much to loose
