Regarding the change of Address in Passport

Post by durga » Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:25 pm

Hi,
This is Durga,I am from Bangalore(INDIA).

I am working in software company,I got an offer to transfer to UK branch. I want to clarify some of my doubts. i got the passport when i am studying the A.P. It is having my old address(permanent and present).

Do i need to apply for change of address before applying for visa?

Is it OK in the visa application if i provide the new permanent address which is different from address in the passport?

When i inquired in the passport office they told me it will take at least one month for Change of Address in the passport.

Is address really matters while filling the visa application form?

Waiting for the response

Thanks for the clarification...

So i can conclude this way, while filling the Visa Application i can specify the Present(Bangalore) address and also my current permanent address(A.P, my parents are settled here).

One more thing what is the purpose of Address present in the Passport?
