i have got a really daft question. i am trying to check my application status online on the following link

Now my wife sent me our application reference number
which is gry-pk-xxxxxxxx-X.

now when i try to check my online status - i type the full reference number as above and type her date of birth but it seems invalid.

Has my wife sent me the wrong reference number or is the reference number in the wrong format??

or should i not be typing the full reference number ???(i.e. excluding the gry-pk- at the beginning and the -X at the end.

try ISL/LHR number or whatever applies for you according to your city...

For question 8.4.6 When did you last see your sponsor what date shall I put as my wife will apply when I am in pakistan. So shall I put the date I am leaving pakistan even tho she will apply before I leave???

Also 8.4.7 How do you keep in touch with your sponsor?

Well at the time of submitting application I will be in pakistan with wife so what what shall I put.

i was in the exact same position as i also went to submit my case , so i was confused about the date aswel, i spoke to my solicitor and got his advice on it. i cant remeber the answer to 8.4.6 right now but i will have to look at the copy of my application when i get home and get back to you.

in regards to 8.4.7 i wrote via phone calls, post cards and visits . If there is anything extra you have used i.e. e-mail also add that aswel

she would have it on her receipt .ISL/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/x

but they did not mention the date of decision ...

im worried too coz my hubby is self employed n they called his workplace! ..why would they call for self-employed?

tasawar You should be next in line looking at the list. Although they seem to be contacting nearly all sponsors' employers nowadays there is no hard and fast rule.

I think we ought to change this to any applicants, would make more sense to rather than june/july and having multiple lists.

You make a good point in that it will avoid multiple lists. However, in my humble opinion I think the current format is better for the following reasons:

1. The list will get very, very long;

2. If, for example, there are May applicants on the list then that wouldn't be of any great use as most, although not all, have already had their decisions;

3. If, for example, there are August and September applicants on the list then they won't really have any information to add for at least another two, possibly three months.

4. Who will remove the June applicants from the list in say, six months time when the information is no longer of use?

Hence, I think having a list for each two month period is better as the people can follow and discuss with other applicants with similar application dates. However it's not upto me! Depends what everyone else thinks. Eid mubarak!

Please read surah rehman from the Quran everyday as much as you want in a day unitl you hear about ur husband/wife visa. And read it in the intention of them getting their visa - dis is what i did. The surah is short and wil only take 5 mins!

You all just gta have faith in Allah, everything happens for the best.

SALAAM you need to see on the white receipt given. Below your
GRY-PK-XX-XXXXXX-X NUMBER will be a ref num beginning her full name and: -
ISL/date u submitted appl will be here/055xxx/x
under that will be her passport number and what category it is i.e settlement wife

use the ISL/220710/055254/1 REF NUM AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE USED MINE BUT CHANGED THE LAST DIGITS.
220710 WAS 22nd july 2010 when handed enter it in then the d.o.b
and you should get a response.

Corrado I agree we need to stick to just June/July as list will get very long and confusing for us all as AUG members info would be of no use to us. You have to understand the cycle and timing of it all.

August members you have your own list on the forum. Please get other members to join the list for AUG/SEP MEMBERS so you can monitor and watch progress on each others applications.
