Just to let everybody know, I'm still waiting for my application to return and it's been 7 MONTHS.
Solicitor recommended to write to UKBA to return all information regarding application based on Data Protection Act. Will see what how that will go...

What i dont understand is how can they keep someones passport for 6 months or more? nowadays especially for non UK people passport is the only mean of identity, not only you can not travel, you can not rent flat, get a new job ect because everyone want to see your original passport.

It is so STUPID, that the home office not only are uncapable of delivering a good service even we pay them 1000£ for it. But what annoys me is that they dont NEED to keep the passport that long. They could ask for copies or make photocopies of the passport when they recieve it and process it from there. The passport is returned and they can process the application for 10 years for all i care , as long as the passport is back. Once the visa is ready, they can contact the person to send the pasport to be stamped. SIMPLE and EASY. but nooooo they have to go the long hard way.

UKBA finally decided to do something on my application..

Post by Murat » Sun Aug 15, 2010 12:47 pm

After waiting almost 8 months I received a letter from UKBA which asks three more documents and return them within 14 days.

One of them is that they want p60 or wage slips not contracts I guess-because for one of my jobs I could not find the P60 and put the contract instead. I think it depends on caseworker as one of my friend got away with it, so I need to send my wage slips instead. The rest of the documents, they did not mention in their application form like child birth certificate but now they ask for it.

Just hope once i send it, they will have enough documents to complete my application. Did you know anybody in the similar situation ?

ILR Received...

Post by Murat » Wed Aug 25, 2010 6:33 pm

Dear All,

Finally today we received our passports with ILR stamped on them.

Applied for ILR SET(O) - HSMP JR + 2 dependants
Document send 25th December 2009
Ack letter recieved 29/12/2009
ILR Recieved 25/08/2010

Yes it was a long 8 months -34 weeks- of wait and finally we got it. Only thing is that I did not receive a back dated letter stating my immigration-free status start from January which I need t oask to home office separately.

I wish you all good luck and hopefully you'll receive good news sooner.

I applied for Tier1 (In country) application: 28th January 2010.
Ack Letter recived and payment deduction: 12th February 2010

I am still waiting since then as 32 weeks have passed. I phoned up several time to UKBA to check the progress but they do not tell anything, all the say is to keep waiting. I wrote a letter to UKBA as well 3 weeks ago but did not get any reply back. I really do not have any idea what to do? Because this wait is killing me now...(My current leave is going to expire end of this month, 30th Sept)...Everyday i wait for the post from Home Office but nothing comes up...

hmmmm that is strange a Tire 1 shouldnt take that long...... Max 3 months i would guess ....you must try to find out whats going on a Tire 1 is a quicker visa than ILR .

Congratulation Terlen - the only question I have is whether you applied on 18th March or 28th May? - there is some confusion here...

Got a card from the post office today to say we have something that needs to be collected and signed for. Could it be OH's ILR? Fingers crossed. Letter received from UKBA on the 21st April to say they'd received the application so it's been a long stressful wait. Will let you know if it is tomorrow.
