how to request information on progress made (legacy case)

the home office requesting information from me regarding the legacy case and i sent all the information requested, it has been nearly 14 weeks which according to the message on the telephone when you ring should be ample time to hear from them and i havent, i rang them beginning of this week and was told to write to the team handling my case and ask on progress, my question now would be,
-how would i word the letter requesting progress?
-is there a template that anyone has used to send to them?
-what questions would i have to ask them e.g how they are handling cases and
-do i ask how long they take in resolving legacy cases?
