Such is the price you pay for being a "bloody immigrant". Yet the media give society the impression that Britain is a soft-touch with an open door immigrant policy. I'm speechless (as if an immigrant like me has a voice).

Hey we will increase the fees to these guys (interesting names we have got immigrant, migrant workers....)
Who pay loads of tax (not get anything back), pay for the NI (treated like benefit stealers if you go for any treatment for hospital)
They dont have unions to voice back any increase in visa fees
They wont come to fight back for increasing fees
They dont basically need any quality service
Easy to grab money from these people.... INCREASE FEES
Sorry thats my rant for now

What gets me is that everyone seems to think that immigrants cost them so much but look at the profit they make from us just based on the application fees!!!
I tell it like it is.

Another thing that is interesting is that if you see the average cost per unit and the fee they actually charge, e.g. unit cost for processing ILR PEO is £256 and proposed fee is £1250 eye watering £1000 profit!!!!
I wonder how they derive these fees structure, may be they are just plucking these figures out of air.

They have a monopoly. When that happens, they can charge extortionate fees!
They are confident that people will still pay. Just ask yourself, will you not be renewing your UK visa even if the fee is doubled?
One way to take revenge is to get PR/BC and then start claiming benefits.

Please correct me!
This increase of fees for Tier1 from 690 to 750 is applicable for main applicant only whereas the dependant fees remains as 690 only.

"Main applicant" is the one who is making the application under his/her name. So if the dependent (of the principal migrant) is making a separate application (under his / her own name) and applying separately, then the new (full) fees apply. Do not confuse "main applicant" with "main migrant". Dependent fees apply when the dependent is included in the same application as the main migrant and applying together.
Also, this is not applicable for applications from outside the UK where dependents are required to submit separate applications and pay separate fees even when applying with the main migrant.
regards

Thanks,
Since am applying the Tier1 for me (as main applicant) and my 2 dependants, the fees will be 750+690+690?
I hope there is a new form (VAF9) also?

As suggested, keep an eye on the local VAC website and UKVisas wesbite.

why to be so suprised.. i am just glad it is not like £10.000 or something like that.. they would easily shut down all that immigration service if they don't earn that much ..
It is basically not for our profit as an immigrant but for governments favour.

New immigration application fees from 22 November 2010
Following Parliamentary approval, on Monday 22 November we will introduce new application fees for migrants applying to come to or extend their stay in the UK for work, study or other reasons.
The fees being changed are those set above the cost of processing, which are subject to the affirmative parliamentary process. Fees that are set at or below the cost of processing were revised on Friday 1 October.
