Long Form Birth Certificates?

Post by unixguru » Fri Jun 11, 2004 9:15 pm

Does anyone know when long form birth certificates were first issued? When I applied for a copy of my mothers BC it was only a single sheet.

A long form birth certificate is only a single sheet. It is just a bigger sheet than the short form and contains additional information.

You can obtain either for your mother....I am assuming your mothers birth was registered in the UK.

They have had long form certificates for longer than i have been alive and thats 45 years and you can get them for births 100 years or more ago.
