how do you know when your employer has been contacted?is it simply via the sponsor being informed from HR or does it state it on the status of the application?

Shazaz: There is no status change for people's employers being contacted, I would guess most employers seek the consent of the employee before disclosing information for data protection reasons so yes, people find out from their HR departments.

You will know when the passport is ready for collection (i.e a decision has been made) by accessing the online tracking yourself if you have the reference number, but what a pleasant surprise if your other half turns up unannounced!

I would guess from the list maryammajid is due for employer contact next and would recommend she at least edit her post to remove personal details such as email address, date of birth and passport number (or can a moderator please do this?).

And I'm also looking forward to mkak's status changing to ready for collection.

AdilK & Nags It seems there is three month wait for employer contact at the moment (seems to be week 13 or 14 given the limited data we have in the list below) and roughly four months for a decision.

im going to apply for my husbands visa in october from islamabad.i will have 3 months of payslips and 3 months bankstatement,with £2000 savings. will that be ok?

i started my job on 5th july10.since then no tax is being deducted as i have not used me free allowance of the tax year. the hm revenue is not writing any letter stating the information.will this be a problem?

also i will be taking the paperwork with me and i want to stay there until hubby doesnt get the visa.my uncle who is my employer has given me holidays,and when my husband gets the visa i will come back and start my work again.so can i stay in pakistan they cant reject the visa on this basis or can they?

what if they wish to speak to you....? u will give them pak's number to contact you??

£2000 saving would be ok , as long as you are employed and getting a wage

i hope your uncle has informed HMRC that you are working for him, even though your not paying tax yet as you have not exceeded your personal allowance they still need to know so they can put you on the system. If he has told them then call HMRC and ask for your tax coding notice they will post it to you , it shows you tax code for the year i.e. 647L and also will say your employers name, its good thing to add it shows that you are employed and HMRC are aware of it.

secondly you said you wanted to stay with your husband until the visa is done, but as you know its taking more then 3 months at present, so the eco may raise a question that you have just started your job 3 months ago and your going on a holiday for around 4 months .

mkak UKBA askd to our employer like how many hours she work and for hong long she is doing work over there and if she is on work today that it and i will email them tomorrow and then we will see but do dua for us becouse this si my 2nd application for spouse visa i am worrid about some points becouse my wife is working part time but we meet wait maintaineces requirements but inshallah we will get it this ameen

I will have my 3 payslips ready by December 2010 and then i will apply for my wife visa. However, i only have a three months contract and after that i will be working at the same company on a on-going basis. Will my wife's application be rejected based on my contract. My net salary is between 1300-1400 pounds. What should my employer write in the letter in which they will confirm my employment, and about the english test does anyone know when it is going to start and how should the applicant prepare for it.

Can someone plz help me?

at khalid83 and shahzadkhan4545 - you both should get legal advice because your situations are complicated. The english test will start 29/11/10 and in terms of documentation required please read the previous posts in this thread as many people have stated the required documentation.

I have sent an email today to the settlement uk visas enquiry team asking them how i can update my visa application with my new employer details - i guess my wife just needs to go to islamabad and submit the new documents referring to our application number.
Please make dua for me that this will be ok and they will update my application accordingly - this seems suprisingly very rare !!!!!
not many solicitors were aware of this possibility!!!!!

My application is now under process at BHC (14/09/10)

eco officers dont like employment by small firms and family memebers, as they are aware that people fake employments and just get the papers made, you can vsit ur hubby for in between but i wouldnt reccomend staying there

dont strees dude, nothing complicated about ur situation as long as ur earning over £200 a week is all good all you need to do is not to show all of your expences and like you said you have been saving 400 a week thats more than enough.....

let me give you some good advise, if you dont want to fail on communication then ring BT and join the international friends and family scheme it will cost you 9p per minute to pakistan and you will get an itemised billing statement at the end showing the number u dialled.

list of papers required;
mortgage statements
house letter by local council (to prevent over crowding)
letter from you parents if living with parents
utility bills
mobile phone bills (showing text messages sent to ur wife)
minimum 3 months bank statements
payslips
p60
employment letter
spondonsorship letter
copy of you passport including visits for wedding
nikah nama urdu and english
photos of wedding
photos after wedding if you have any
money transfer receipts (important)
also include some calling cards

thats all i can think off if i have missed anything (i dont think i have)plz add to list
