Neither are you a British citizen nor someone who has settled status, so will your dependent be subject to these conditions?New English language requirement for partners wrote:From autumn 2010, any migrant who wants to enter or remain in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or a person settled here will need to show that they can speak and understand English.
As already mentioned above, the test is for partners of any migrant who wants to enter or remain in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or a person settled here. You are neither a British citizen or a migrant with settled status. Hence, the test is not for your partner.
