Switch from TIER 2 (ICT) to TIER 2 (General) from UK

Dear All,

Currently, I am in UK with TIER 2 (ICT) visa. I have got a new job and have to switch to TIER 2 (General) visa category. I am planning to get my TIER 2 (General) visa stamped and then want to give my resignation in my current company. After that I am planning to serve two months of notice period to my current employer from UK.

My new employer is fine with this kind of arrangement.

My question is with TIER 2 (General) visa from new employer, Is it LEGAL to serve 2 months' notice period to my current employer from UK ?

As per the thread "http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=62789&sid=5fdf2ad855588dfcc133e1586b459a1a", I can work with my current employer until the start date on the new CoS.
