Bash, it is Islamabad. They have invited my friend's Mrs for an interview. Its happening next week. My friend got divorced in November last year but he got married in April last year so because he was not divorced through the court in April he went back in December to re-register (after getting his decree absolute) his marriage so that he can meet the criteria free to mary part. I think he has a got a good chance of getting a visa but the ECO wants to make sure I guess that everything is genuine. The poor guy is so stressed out because he had a really tough time in his previous marriage but now that he is happily married he is being treated this way. He has a good job, accomodation and everything what is required by the High Commission.

Mars,

I dont think the islamabad mission does interviews as a matter of course. because of the security situation, they dont like people coming to the diplomatic enclave, so instead they want people to submit complete paperwork so they can just give the decision on that.

I think you may be right, the ECO will probably want to make sure everything in genuine and in this case it may not seem straightforward to do this on paperwork.

let us know the outcome.
all the best,
bash
