Different "Place of Birth" in Passport and BirthCe

Post by linkin » Wed Nov 03, 2010 12:16 am

Hi All,

I have to apply Tier 1 Dependant for my son.

The Place of Birth as mentioned in his Passport if different from the one in his Birth Certificate.

Kindly suggest which one should we be filling in the Section 1.7 (Place of Birth) of VAF10.

Please, suggest soon, I have to apply next week itself.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for reply, Vinny.

The one on the Birth Certificate is the correct one.

Is it actually different, or two versions of the same thing?

For example, my son's birth certificate says he was born in Camden, his passport says he was born in London. Camden is one of the London boroughs. So they are different, but not incompatible.
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.
