The interim limit does not affect:
applicants who are already in the UK (with current permission to stay in any immigration category);
dependants of Tier 1 (General) applicants; or
applicants to the Investor, Entrepreneur and Post-study work categories of Tier 1.

Were the guys, who received the tier1 visa, from above category?

Latest Case:

1. Country of application - India
2. City of Visa Application Centre - Bangalore
3. Date of application - 03-11-2010
4. Date of submission of documents (if different from 3 above) - 03-11-2010
5. Date Entry Clearance valid from - 30-01-2011
6. Duration for Entry Clearance - 2 Years
7. Date passport received - 12-11-2010

Why? Any application decided before the limit is reached would have been granted a visa. And the limit reached on the 10th day of the month. So, many applications must have been decided before that "limit reached" moment, like your friends'.

Okie, I agree with you Sush.

So, Can i assume that the last visa application processed was around 3 Nov. Since i applied on 9 Nov, I can expect an outcome in 1st week of december.

Ritesh

Thanks Ritesh and All The Best!!!!!

What surprises me is the waiting times given in the below link

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... tingtimes/

Link says 'Processing applications received before October 4 2010'

Cheers,
Gan

Why should you assume so? In such case the announcement would have been made on the 3rd / 4th itself.

I thought, as there is no limit on in country applications, there should not be any lag in processing them too.

Anyways, thanks sushdmehta for your support and also would like to thank push and all others for the same. I got my visa approved today!!!!

Cheers,
Gan

This should help clear some doubts about the information posted on UKBA website regarding in-country "waiting times".

I apolozise for being ignorant. But it sounds quite confusing to me. I applied for Tier 1 on Nov 1 from Delhi center. But status still shows that my application has been forwarded to British High Commission, while ones who applied at later date already got the visa. Shouldn't they accept or reject application received first before moving on to next one? Is there something I am missing out on?

The applications are allotted to different case workers and they make a decision and this process depends on may factors like the complication of the case, working style of the case worker, etc etc. So, it is impossible to accept or reject application received first before moving on to next one.
